The beat goes on. We now continue our look at this weekend’s seemingly endless stream of outstanding launches with the Nike LeBron 11 Blackout release, also slated for tomorrow, March 15.The name’s a bit of a misnomer — there’s as much “anthracite” as black, though that’s splitting hairs a bit — but the result is the same: very dark upper, allowing the materials and subtle details to stand out. Black mesh and Fuse sit alongside near-black Hyperposite, with glossy speckling adding an ornate element. The only contrast then comes by sort of metallic, almost iridescent purple Swooshes, while black and grey commingle in a marbled print on the outsole and liner.Grab a pair in stores or online tomorrow morning, with e-tailers stocking the shoe beginning at 8am EDT.Nike LeBron 11Black/Multi-Color-AnthraciteStyle #: 616175-09015 March 2014$200
As we saw with the LeBron 10, the LeBron 11 will again hit retailers with the performance materials stripped out in favor of fashion-oriented elements, and today we get our best look at what’s likely to be the first colorway to hit retailers, the Nike LeBron 11 EXT Blue/Black. (Beyond the materials, the EXT otherwise sports the same silhouette as the standard LeBron 11, as opposed to the LeBron 11 NSW Lifestyle which is an entirely distinct model that merely uses the XI as inspiration.)While this shoe has quickly gained the Presleyan nickname “Blue Suede,” closer examination seems to indicate something not quite — felt perhaps, or at least synthetic suede — replacing the usual ‘Posite and Hyperfuse. It’s no less monochromatic either way, with the upper cloaked in blue, standing in stark contrast to black on the outsole, inner-lining and leather tongue. No word yet on a release date, but it’s likely not far off. Stay tuned for updates, and check out plenty of photos below.Photos via Long 7.
Remember the Nike LeBron 11 EXT King’s Crown release date that, last week, we announced was set for Friday, July 4? Well, we stand by it. Today Foot Locker announced they too will stock the eye-popping shoe, alternately known as the LeBron 11 EXT Crown Jewel, on Independence Day.As a brief refresher, the latest Nike Sportswear-designed colorway of LBJ’s on-court shoe redefines the word “conspicuous,” as metallic iridescent piecing is set against premium black molded suede on the upper for striking, contrast-heavy good looks. A black leather tongue and icy blue outsole meanwhile round out the shoe, adding an extra pop of high-fashion styling.Grab ’em in mere days, with Foot Locker’s House of Hoops locations doing the ticketed raffle system to distribute their pairs. Is this one of the XI’s best looks?Nike LeBron 11 EXT QS“King’s Crown”Style #: 677693-0014 July 2014$250
