As a quick technology recap, the LeBron 9 features a carbon fiber textile over most of the rear-half of the upper, providing good looks, lightweight stability and flexibility, and also sports lightweight, breathable Fuse composite as well as stabilizing embedded Flywire. And one detail that I overlooked the last couple of days, the shoes read “What we do in life” on the left, and “Echoes in eternity” on the right, a nod to Gladiator, apparently one of the LeBron’s favorite movies. As I’ve said before, I’m expecting a Nike LeBron 9 release date around October, but that’s just approximately, and clearly the NBA lockout could affect that. The Nike LeBron XI Parachute Gold release is creeping closer by the day, scheduled for October 12. So why not take another look at the shoe as we’re now inside eight weeks from the launch.Today’s set of photos beautifully showcases the shoe’s cutting edge technology and stylish design, from the metallic-finished olive Armorposite piecing, tonal Hyperfuse synthetic alonside and black mesh midfoot, to its contrast red Flywire, mint accents and patterned inner-lining.Housed within the shoe is a drop-in Lunarlon-enhanced full-length Zoom Air midsole, though you’ll just have to take my word for it today. To celebrate LeBron James’ 24th birthday Nike and NBA TV have teamed up to air “24 Hours of LeBron James.” The video above is the promotional commercial advertising it. The Love-fest starts at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific and lasts … 24 hours. Truthfully I have no idea what they’re showing and I can’t be troubled to watch that video again. They definitely made mention of some sort of encore presentation of Cavs-Heat, but who knows. We’ll cross that bridge when I meet someone who has NBA TV.
