The last shoe in the Air Max LeBron VII Low “Rumors” Pack is sort of an outlier; the rest of the pack is inspired by teams LeBron “could” sign with this summer as a free agent (Knicks, Nets, CSKA Moscow; although really only one of them is a legitimate candidate), while this pair represents more of a pipe dream, what could have been (as seen in a State Farm ad). The Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low “Rumors”–Cleveland Browns sports a colorway inspired by LeBron’s hometown football team and it might just be the best pair in the pack, featuring brown and orange accents with a perforated, off-white upper. Really dope. Check out more photos after the jump. Known for its rich heritage of basketball, Christ the King High School in Queens, NY is annually the recipient of a special PE of LeBron’s current signature shoe-of-the-moment, historically a perfect fit due to the school’s Cavs-like maroon/gold palette. And while LeBron has moved on to Miami, the school continues to get that special treatment. The Nike LeBron 11 Christ the King PE pairs a maroon Fuse-and-mesh base with white Hyperposite piecing on the upper, while gold contrasts on the liner, outsole, Swoosh and Flywire. On the heel, a K is encircled by a C, proudly announcing the shoe’s school affiliation.Unlike in some years past, there’s no expection that any of the LeBron 11 high school PEs will hit retail this year, though we’ll bring you updates if that changes. For now, check out a slew of photos below.Photos via Blammo.
We already have a great idea of how LeBron James’s next signature model will look — we’ve seen detailed photos time and again — but how about what could have been? As seen in this Nike LeBron 12 prototype, things could have been dramatically different.Rather than the Hyperposite-overlaid upper comprised of an equitable, unchanging mesh — that being the composition of the actual LeBron 12 — the prototype features a different build altogether. Several layers of open mesh are stacked together through the toe, transitioning to a thinner, more solid construction at the midfoot and heel. The ‘Posite overlays are entirely altered, looking more like a rubberized synthetic than . . . well, Posite.Another thing worth noting: It looks like LeBron and Nike Basketball knew what kind of outsole and cushioning they wanted from day one. The Nike LeBron 12 prototype’s outsole is virtually identical to that of the GR LeBron 12.Photo via wowmeeddie.
