As you can see this is a significant departure from the product that will hit shelves, but at the same time the prototype seems to represent a deconstructed, stripped down version (even the Flywire is bare, without the extra layer of Hyperfuse added on). I think everyone can agree that the retail-version of the LeBron 9 is the better of the two (check out the Miami Hurricanes-inspired colorway), but would this deconstructed “9” prototype have been worth purchasing? The nickname isn’t perfect, but the palette itself is close enough. The Nike LeBron X Low Hornets pairs teal accents with a silver Hyperfuse upper, creating an eye-catching contrast and clean summer style.Purple also adorns the tongue’s pull-tab, while red midsole-speckling and Swoosh-outline complete the look, which is still waiting on a release date.Nike Air Max LeBron X LowStyle #: 579765-002Photos via SA.
We were already pretty sure about this, but the Swoosh has made it official: The Nike LeBron 11 Gamma Blue release date is set for Saturday, November 16.The striking colorway is inspired by tempered steel which, when brought to extremely high heat, develops an oxidized layer that turns blue. Steel is then forged and retreated, creating a durable, nearly-unbreakable material, a concept that’s mirrored in LeBron’s on-court game.Light blue Hyperposite panels immediately catch the eye, set against silver solid Hyperfuse trim, which gives way to black mesh through the midfoot. The gradient Swoosh, shifting from yellow to purple to blue, represents the entire spectrum of tempered steel.Grab the Gamma Blue on shelves in a month, retailing for the usual $200.Nike LeBron 11Armory Slate/Gamma Blue-Light Armory BlueStyle #: 616175-40116 November 2013$200
