As Black History month approaches, so too does Nike’s annual eponymous shoe collection. This year, one of the stars of the shoe show will be LeBron’s latest, albeit exclusively in grade school sizing. The Nike LeBron X GS BHM sports a largely black and grey build, with vibrantly contrasting orange accents and a unique pattern adorning the midsole, Swoosh and tongue-tag, beautifully showcasing the shoe while giving it the unique “special edition” style that’s a hallmark of such collections.Alas, as mentioned above, this one is exclusive to the small-footed portion of the population. Stay tuned for solid release info. One more extensive Nike LeBron 9 preview today, and one that really shows some of the premium details of the shoe. As a quick technology recap, the LeBron 9 features a carbon fiber textile over most of the rear-half of the upper, providing good looks, lightweight stability and flexibility, and also sports lightweight, breathable Fuse composite as well as stabilizing embedded Flywire. And one detail that I overlooked the last couple of days, the shoes read “What we do in life” on the left, and “Echoes in eternity” on the right, a nod to Gladiator, apparently one of the LeBron’s favorite movies. As I’ve said before, I’m expecting a Nike LeBron 9 release date around October, but that’s just approximately, and clearly the NBA lockout could affect that.
