To celebrate LeBron James’s fourth MVP award in five years, Nike has put together a breathtakingly eye-catching edition of his signature shoe, debuting on his feet during Monday’s Game 1.The Nike LeBron X What the MVP? sports the most conspicuous, asymmetrical look yet on the X, with the two disparate shoes incorporating elements of every LeBron X colorway so far, a tribute to the past season during which King James has been wearing the model. The result is . . . words can’t even describe it, really. Thankfully, 15 detailed pictures await you below. While there’s no official Nike LeBron X What the MVP? release date announced yet, the shoe will hit US and China retailers soon. Stay tuned for details.#gallery-1 {margin: auto;}#gallery-1 .gallery-item {float: left;margin-top: 10px;text-align: center;width: 33%;}#gallery-1 img {border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;}#gallery-1 .gallery-caption {margin-left: 0;}/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Using the same ideology that created the LeBron VII PS, the Nike LeBron 8 v2 features a similar silhouette to the shoe it’s based on (the LeBron 8), but swaps out most of the leather in favor of a heavily-perforated upper to reduce weight, covered with a thin, transparent Flywire-like shell to protect the holes. The Flywire panels remain unchanged and, like the LeBron VII PS, the midsole opts for an embedded Air Max unit. Check out several more views beneath the cut, and look for these to release during the upcoming NBA season.
